Desperately seeking fame

This brings us to Larry King. After a segment heralding heroes such as cancer researchers and military veterans, King asked in-studio guest Prejean who her hero is. "Sarah Palin," Prejean said assuredly, some-how managing to keep a straight face. "Sarah Palin is your hero?" King replied, no doubt doing his best to hold back a laugh. Following a segment saluting real heroes the Prejean comment serves to further illuminate the model's ignorance and agenda. In response to Prejean's comments about being under attack for her religious views, King then addressed the topic of liberal women being attacked by the right wing press, citing Hillary Clinton and Sonia Sotomayor and even quoting conservative commentator Laura Ingram's comments that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has "done everything but sell her body" for health care legislation. Naturally, Prejean dodged the question, preferring to digress instead into yet another rant about how Sarah Palin has been mistreated. Later, when King asked her about her recent settlement with the Miss USA Organizers, Prejean threatened to walk off the show, proceeding to sit immobile in front of the camera until after the following commercial break.
The answer King was looking for had to do with the revelation of a sex tape featuring Prejean that was provocative enough to get Prejean to drop her lawsuit against the Miss USA Organizers. Prejean has claimed that the video was intended for a former boyfriend's eyes alone and was shot when she was 17. Prejean's boyfriend, however, claims that the video was actually shot when she was 20, essentially two years ago. The sex tape itself does not matter; rather, the problem stems from Prejean's hypocrisy. By trying to play the role of the noble Christian woman who condemns such "worldly" behavior, Prejean brought upon herself a much-deserved barrage of negative attention. Regardless, Prejean will not let a little videotape get in the way of sales, and has been adamant about plugging her book every chance she gets, referring to it multiple times and going so far as to hold it up for the camera, plastic smile firmly in place.
Contrary to all her whining, Prejean ought to be kissing the ground Perez Hilton walks on for letting her overstay her welcome in America's households. None can really sum it up better than Keith Lewis, the executive director of Miss California who has known Prejean for the last couple years. "The public is finally getting a glimpse of the real Carrie Prejean, who lives in her own delusional world. The childish behavior, her negative attitude, the sarcasm and condescending tone, the disrespect and continual lying she is demonstrating now is only a fraction of what we endured both during her reign and after."
Here's hoping we don't have to endure her much longer.

Hi Brendan, I enjoyed your article. However, the photo that you posted (which states that Prejean is on the left) is wrong - it doesn't show Prejean at all. (Continued…)

The girl on the left is actually Prejean's replacement and current Miss California Tami Farrell

Very good article! I couldn't have described Carrie Prejean's victim mentality better myself.
